La Soprano

Podcast 6 EPISODES

It explores the life of Amelita Galli Curci, an Italian opera diva of the 1930s who dazzled in the most prestigious theaters in the world, until a tumor in her throat unexpectedly ended her career. The soprano was also a distant aunt of the director, admired and adored by her family, who visited Argentina only twice. After exhausting her years as a lyric singer and retiring from opera, she moved to Southern California where she met Paramahansa Yogananda, the first Hindu guru in the West, who introduced her to Zen philosophy and the occult sciences. She died in the United States in 1963.
