Embodied Letter

[2015]

Julián D’ Angiolillo

Documentary / 77 minutes
Eze learns to write: The letter has to be one step wide and one arm's length high. The word has to be read from the swift distance of a freeway. Color will do the rest, identifying the name painted on the wall with a political party.

During the campaign, every vacant surface in the city will be disputed by the crews that specialize in commissioned painting, and every skilled letterer will be sought after by the rival brigade. On the eve of the political closed season, the last hours in which painting is allowed, Eze will skillfully embody the propaganda of multiple candidates, exploring the limits of this game of representation.
